What Noveltreat is
Noveltreat is a once-weekly semaglutide injection from Sun Pharma, launched in India on 22 March 2026. It is approved for chronic weight management in adults, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity: the same use as Wegovy.
It comes as a pre-filled pen with a concealed needle, in five strengths that follow the standard semaglutide schedule: 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg. Sun Pharma also sells Sematrinity, a semaglutide pen for type 2 diabetes in 2 mg and 4 mg multi-dose pens. The two brands are licensed for different uses.
Noveltreat price in India
At launch, Sun Pharma priced Noveltreat at about ₹900 a week at the starting dose, rising to about ₹2,000 a week at the highest dose: roughly ₹3,600 to ₹8,000 a month. Generic semaglutide prices have moved quickly since March 2026, so check the current MRP on the pack.
* Prices are manufacturers' maximum retail prices (MRP) in India, checked October 2026, and are shown as a guide only. Prices change often and may differ when you buy. Lean Life does not sell medicines online: any medicine is prescribed only after a consultation with a Lean Life doctor, and dispensed by a licensed pharmacy.
How Noveltreat compares
| Brand | Company | Approved for (at launch) | MRP per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semasize | Indian generic | Type 2 diabetes and weight management | ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 |
| Noveltreat | Sun Pharma | Weight management | about ₹3,600 to ₹8,000 at launch |
| Obeda | Dr Reddy's | Type 2 diabetes | about ₹4,200 at launch |
| Poviztra | Emcure (Novo Nordisk brand) | Weight management | ₹3,999 to ₹8,999 |
| Wegovy | Novo Nordisk | Weight management | ₹5,660 to ₹16,400 |
All of these contain semaglutide. The differences are the device, the price and, importantly, what each product is approved for. A product approved only for diabetes isn't licensed for weight management, even though the medicine is the same.
Getting Noveltreat safely
- Buy only with a prescription, from a licensed pharmacy. Never from social media sellers, gyms or salons.
- Check the pack is sealed, the batch number and expiry date are printed clearly, and the price is not far below MRP.
- Pens should arrive cold, in insulated packaging.
- If anything looks wrong, don't inject it. Show it to your pharmacist or doctor.
